Slow Solve Trainer

Turn one move per beat and never stop. There is no timer here on purpose.

Pace

One move per beat, all the way through. If you have to pause, the pace is too fast. Drop a step rather than catching up.

How to use this

Slow solving trains lookahead, and it only works if you never stop moving. Pick a pace you can hold through the whole solve. Most people start around 1 turn per second, which feels absurdly slow and is exactly the point. Then turn one move on each beat, all the way through.

The rule is simple: if you have to pause, you were going too fast. Drop the pace and go again. You are not trying to finish quickly; you are trying to finish without ever searching for the next piece. That search is what a pause is, and removing it is the entire skill.

Once a pace feels comfortable for several solves in a row, move up one step. Most of the gain comes from the slowest paces, where there is enough time to actually track the next pair while you finish the current one.
